Incredible Color Changing Card Trick
You let your audience member freely select a card from the deck The chosen card is flipped over at the end of the trick to show that it is the only card in the deck with a different colored back !!!
Effect : The deck is fanned out face up in front of your friend and they are then invited to point to any card. The card is then removed from the deck and placed face on a table.
The deck is fanned out again to show that all the cards have the same colored back ( in this case, red. )
Your friend is asked to turn over their freely selected card on the table, where they discover that it has a blue back as opposed to every other one in the pack which is red backed.
You Will Need :
A deck of cards with a colored back i.e red or blue
One other card from another different colored deck.
This example uses red and blue Bicycle brand cards that have the same design on their back.
Preparation :
Place what will be the spectator's card to be forced at the bottom of the deck before your performance. also if you wish, you can remove the duplicate card to the one that will be forced on the spectator in this case its a blue King of Hearts so we can remove the red King of Hearts, just in case they wish to inspect the pack, after your performance.
Performance : Your friend will have the blue backed card forced upon them by a special sleight of hand known as the Hindu Shuffle Force. This is demonstrated in the video below and is performed as follows.
The deck is held in one hand, face down and gripped by the thumb on one lengthwise side and third finger on the other lengthwise side.
A block of cards is plucked from the bottom half of the deck and small packets of cards are then peeled off the top of the block and dropped on top of the deck being held in your other hand until your friend shouts STOP !!
You then show them the face up card still remaining in your upper hand. This card will have been the bottom card in the deck i.e. the different colored backed one. Your friend will believe that they have freely chosen this card. You then place the card on the table ( face up) making sure not to show a glimpse of the back of the card to your friend.
The rest of the deck is fanned out in front of your friend to confirm that the backs of the cards are all the same red color and your friend is invited to turn over their chosen card on the table which when turned over will be discovered to be blue backed, to their amazement.
